Yesterday I received two new species:
Apistogramma agassizii WF, Flamenco(Peru)

Very shy and were hiding when I wanted to take them photos

Apistogramma atahualpa WF, young fishes

Hi all,
Ruki wrote "Darrel, maybe you can ID my magnolia by only seeing leaves in tank". Definitely not M. salicifolia (wrong shape) and too big for M. kobus "stellata", so either M. acuminata (drooping white flower with red centre), or possibly M. x soulangeana (pink or white "candles" in the spring, opening into cupped flowers).

Thanks. :wink: I looked on those and I think(now :biggrin that I have in my garden M. x soulangeana. I have to wait for spring and see the flowers. :wink:

I agree with Darrel - it is very likely M. x soulangeana.
It is also magnolia that I have in my yard.

Hi Łukasz your wild A. cacatuoides & the male A. agassizii are beautiful. Do you know the rivers and the area where they come from?

A. agassizii, if I'm not mistaken were catch in Rio Tigre.
A, cacatuoides were ordered as A. juruensis, I don't know anything more.:frown:

hi Ruki, you've got quite many nice fish. The aggie is beautiful. Mendezi should not be difficult to breed

I'm testing external flash with my camera.
So I show to you some photos of A. mendezi.

Unofrtunatelly no spawn yet.... Maybe I have unfertile female?
I'll try to change water for dozens of very acid water.

And in December I'll have two new species, at least. :biggrin:

These are the leaves of Magnolia grandiflora an evergreen from the S. USA. The leaves that Lukasz has been using are from a deciduous Magnolia, possibly M. x soulangeana.

We don't know if your Magnolia leaves are fish safe or not yet, although I'm aiming to do some tests on them this year. If you can get Cork Oak (Quercus suber) or Camellia? leaves these will do.

I thought that these leaves (M. grandiflora) were fish safe.... I'm confused, I thought Lukas was talking about them.
