Hello everyone, recently at my LFS I saw beautiful pair of Apistogramma Panduro which are very hard to come by in my area. now I have heard that they are very picky about their partners. And as far as I have seen they were the only pair there I didn't see them interact with eachother. So is there any method or tips or tricks to ensure that they get together bond and make some pretty little babies for me

I've only kept nijjensi which people also say are hard to pair but every time i buy a male and a female (it helps if the male is larger than the female); they seem to pair up for some reason so i've not seen this difficulty. As to your question I don't think there is much you can do but if they fail to pair you can provide alternative partners.

Which country do you reside ?

I imagine they just need time, the right environment and good feeding. Pandora and nijsseni females are just the best to me.

I'll keep that in mind, and I have seen my kribensis male whose mate had died after an infection.... Bond with another female a few months after that incident, I thought he'll never pair with anyone as they were a pair for almost a year but that amazed me.

My experience with nijsseni-group species is that some species are more choosy than others. One thing I noticed was that if 2 or more spawnings were unsuccessful, then the breeding pair would split up but live peacefully together. I've had fish that spent a year together like this with no aggression nor even showing any interest in breeding. They just lived peaceful, separate live in the same tank. Then, when I changed potential mates, breeding sometimes was almost immediate. I find A. panduro one of the less choosy about mates of the nijsseni-group.

I would be happy if they just live together in harmony.... I just don't want them to be aggressive and I don't wanna loose one over aggression.
