Hi yall, got some A. Eunotus today and they've been sitting on the bottom of the tank for the past couple hours, is this normal for new fish? These fish were drip acclimated for an hour and was kept in roughly the same pH as my water before I purchased them.

What are your water condition - what is the gh/kh/tds/temp/ph ? Are they wild caught or domestic. Btw i never bother with drip acclimination; i set the close bag in the tank for 30 ish minutes then open and pour them into a net (to dispose of the bag water) and release the fish. In the past 2 years the only fish i had go into shock was dead in the bag though the chocolate cichild did show a lot of initial stress. The last two [wc] blackwater fishes i purchased were d39 and d. maculatus and neither group showed much stress when released but i tend to be on the luckier side of things.

I've never had new species of apisto sit on teh bottom unless they are in shock - having said that usually after 12 to 14 hours if yours do not get up and start swimming i'd be concern as there is not much you can do at this point.

gh is roughly 123 mg/L, kh id roughly 122 mg/L, tds no clue, temp is 23/24 celsius, pH is roughly 7, fish are locally bred with mostly tap water with additional almond leaves

I would check with the seller what water condition he used - at this point i would just wait and they should perk up. If the seller did keep them in soft acidic water you might need to move in that direction.

Update: checked on them again and they are now swimming around, seems they were just overly stressed
