Cacatuoides coloration

Just curious. My male cac (which is about 5 months old) has continued to develop black & red coloration on his caudal fin. It now covers about 2/3 of it. Today I noticed spots on the rear of his dorsal begining to develop. He also is developing a nice blueish color on his pectorals and dorsal. For how long will he continue to develop his coloration? Or does it continue to develop throught their lifespan?

My male has some small blue markings on him as well. I think it has to do with some of the coloration genes passed down. The wild males tend to have more blue in them from the pictures that I have seen. I'm new at this so if I'm wrong, will someone please correct me!

They will continue to color up until they are fully mature. Sounds like your male is still quiet young so he will color up some more as time passes.

When would a male be considered full mature? I'm thinking 10-12 months?

I cant say when they become fully mature but they reach sexually maturity around 5 months age ...
