For my a. sp blutkehl one easy way to sex them is via the tail as the male will develop a lyre tail at an early age. I tried looking at pictures of other fishes in the group like uaupesi and lineata - while the drawing for a male (tom's website description - shows a lyre tail on the male i don't actually see it discussed.

No, for example in A. iniridae and A. sp. D51 males and females have rounded caudal fins.
