75g hood

I just finished the drawing for the hood to fit my new 75g tank, the hood sports eight 32 watt T8 bulbs at 5000K.

I start building it tomorrow, it is the same design as the hood on my 55g and 60g tanks, except they only have 6 tubes. The 60g has two 3" fans in the back, I'm going to add a couple of these to this hood as well. It will be painted with white semi-latex enamel inside and out.

I've been looking at a 75 too...

actually one of the lfs is trying to sell me a whole setup. $400. Not sure if I'm willing to swing that.They want over $200 for just the tank. If you don't mind me asking what did you pay for your tank? If I can find a 75 at a good price I may go for it. If not I know I can get a 55 for $100. I'm not picky about how the stand looks either. My 38 is on a table that dh built for it that is covered with cloth. Easy to get to everything underneath! Taxes are coming back soon so I'm in the planning stages of more tanks. A couple of 10's( I mean I really need a hospital tank) and either the 55 or 75.

I'm pretty sure it was $157 just for the bare tank, no glass covers or anything else. The glass covers I will just trade plants to get them.

I did some more checking and found one!

for $115 for just the tank. I can build the stand and hood so that will leave me the $ to spend on plants and fish. Now if taxes will just hurry up. :lol:
