Which tank to use?

Would it be better to use a standard 20 long aquarium or go with a 20" cube tank (roughly 35 gallons) for a lil breeding tank? The 20 is a rimmed tank and the 35 is rimless if that matters and I am currently only keeping rimless tanks which definitely impacts my train of thought to keep aesthetics in line but I am by no means opposed to a rimmed tank, footprint (for the sake of the apistos) is what matters.

Volume is secondary, footprint is key, correct. The more room to evade each other and to place sight blocks, the better.

In a cube I'd keep a single male. Tops. Not even that, because they do tend to prefer longer lines to swim.

Couldn’t agree more. Can still get creative with a cube but I would save that for something else.
