Spawning B. waverni?

Anyone here spawned Biotodoma waverni? I have a nice group of 8-10 in a 55 G with some Dicrossus and Apisto (who spawn like crazy) but I can't get the waverni to do anything but eat. Do they need a big pH drop or temp change? i keep the water about 78-80 and acidic (pH 5.5-6.0) and soft (10ppm). I've laxed on the water changes but even when I was doing them every 2 weeks I got nothing.
Any tips would be appreciated. They are a nice looking and very peaceful dwarf.

Spawning B. Wavrini

I have only bred Biotodoma wavrini in a species tank, not a community tank. The water conditions were about the same as yours but the way I got them to spawn was by raising the water temperature to 82-84f. I wanted them to think that the dry season was coming as sometimes a change in temperature or other environmental factors can trigger a spawning response.

After they spawned I set the temperature back down to 78-80 as I didnt want to affect the viability of the eggs.

It did the job but I have no real basis for this other than an attempt to try to trigger spawning.
