Hello, I'm a new member from São Paulo.

I'm thinking of change my tank project. Currently I have a 150cmx50cmx60cm tank, with two polypterus and one clown knife fish and maybe I'll change that for an south american tank.

Here my doubts:

Can I keep two species of apistogramma togheter in this tank? I love panduros, they are my first option. In that case, could I put agassizi or trifasciata togheter?

Also pretend to put some dicrossus togheter, would it be ok?

Not thinking to put larger fishes, maybe some angels. The rest of the list is basically corys and tetras.

Any advices?

Thanks.

Once breeding starts - and it will - the "natural behavior" is aggression and increased stress on its inhabitants. In a larger tank you probably can get away doing this. As I said, "I personally would not put breeding groups in the tank", but I am not you. I keep all male (geriatric & extras) tanks and there is very little aggression, just some flaring and other forms of display.

Since A. agassizii and A. trifasciata have such different fin shapes they would do better together than species that look more similar. All of this, of course, depends on how the tank is decorated.
