:D Hi Guys
I have Kept Large American cichlids, Oscars and so on but im getting tired of worrying about such large fish in aquariums i have decided to turn my attention and my 4ft wide, 1.5ft high, 1ft deep into a Apistogramma tank with groups of males and females i was wondering if anyone knows what kinds i could put together ( I have soft water in the tank) ,in how many groups (I do want them to breed).also what kind of dither fish do others have with there Apistos.

PS. Are there any Australians frm sydney in this forum.

DunDee,

WELCOME TO THE FORUM

That is not a paricularly wide tank, but it is fairly long. You can safely put a couple of groups of apistos in there, But it is entirely possible that 2 seperate pairs will take up most of the territory. This will mean that your extra fish may not be extremely happy after a couple of pair set-up shop for spawning. The types that you choose are up to you. Pick the ones that you like or have access to and then post again with your choices. There may be more specific info that will be helpful to you once you narrow it down.
Dithers are a good idea and will help with the apistos security and aggression dispersion. There are tons of choices for this and you should search the forums for suggestions. Click search and type in dithers.

Check in the memberlist. There are plenty of members from Australia. I am not sure what parts though. You can PM them, if you don't get specific answers in this thread.

Good luck,
Neil
