Are there any special features that distinguish macmasteri from hoignei in males?

Cześć, mam małe pielęgniarki f1 Hello, I have small f1 cichlids, parents are most likely macmasteri because I don't know what kind of female she was because the young are different from different very similar parents, the fish were bought as macmasteri rio tame caught, the males were identical to wild macmasteri, I don't have good photos so it's hard to show anything, how can I distinguish macmasteri from hoignei, do they have any special features?

Howver, depending on how small your fish are, it might be impossible to tell yet.

In most cases the only way to safely distinguish hoignei- and macmasteri-subcomplex females is by means of the black markings on throat, chin and chest when they are in spawning/brooding mood. Most hoignei-subcomplex females show black markings on throat and chin whereas most macmasteri-subcomplex females merely show a black blotch on the chest, i.e. between the ventral fins.
