Apistogramma Caetei??

Apistogramma Caetei (edit) or maybe Rotpunkt

Finally got some good shots! When I first posted about them here, someone mentioned that I may not have true Caetei since it was recently discovered that there may be 3 (or more) separate sp under the Caetei name.

Just wondering if anyone has any input...

Hi,

This is not A. caetei. It's A. sp. Rotpunkt / A. cf. alacrina.

I've had them for about a month now. That female has looked like that since the day I put her in the tank. My other female is not nearly that colorful usually. She normally looks a dull yellow/brownish color but has gone bright yellow like that from time to time. I have read that they go yellow when reading to spawn or when protecting fry. I haven't seen any eggs ever.

The male doesn't seem interested in the females at all so far. Fingers crossed

How about this one :

It might be A. caetei, but there are not enough diagnostic features visible to say for certain.

Really like the appearance of A. sp. Rotpunkt / A. cf. alacrina.
Have kept this species at two occasions, but I have not had any luck with them.
But It makes me happy to see nice photos of them..
