apisto tank topless

quick and simple -- do apisto caca's jump out of a topless tank?

I've never had any problems with apistos jumping . almost all of my tanks are topless.

i've lost no apistoes but i've lost 6 discus

ok that sounds good (not the discus you lost part) but im glad i can go with a topless apisto tank- that makes lighting a easier option thanks for the replies and if anyone has lost some to a tank that was topless please tell me soon as i dont want to loose any fish

I have lost many fish from jumping, maybe they were being chased, that includes apisto.

I have lost apistos to jumping, too. This probably occurs when they are being chased by other apistos or frightened by sudden movements outside of the tank. It is not as common as with killifish, but it does happen.

my came out of 2" gap , just found her yesterday as i was cleaning the filter on an unrelated tank,so they jump and have good aim

Aside from being chased, they can also get jumpy when the lights turn on or off. If you can cover all the edges with a strip of glass 2" wide that should reduce the risk of jumping.
