The fish in the photo is probably A. cf. eunotus (Orangeschwanz/Orange-tail). The first A. eunotus to enter the hobby (late 1970s) in large numbers was A. cf. eunotus (Río Shahuaya - A73) from near Pucallpa. I produced and sold many under the name "Pink Apisto". This fish is much deeper bodied (high-backed) than the forms that we now import from around Iquitos. It had a pale salmon pink color on the flanks. It is very similar to the holotype, which comes from the same general area. I believe they are the same species/form.
