Has anyone kept A. Cacatuoides with very small fish? I am thinking of fish<1", such as celestial pearl danios, ember tetras, or boraras species. I am just wondering if it is safe to keep them together, given the large (by comparison) mouth of the apisto.

I have kept A. cacatuoides with small fish many times without issue. I have never seen them even try to eat a fish that big. I have seen them eat stray livebearer fry.

Be aware, if you are trying to breed your apistos that most of those fish will eat fry.

I would think that any of the fish you mentioned would be on shaky ground unless they are full grown. Mother nature gave a Cacatuoides that big mouth for a reason, to be able to fill its belly in a gulp.
