It would also be helpful to know your waterchange and feeding schedule. .2 inches in 6 months does not necessarily indicated stunting, but it is a concern.

How many times a day do you feed and do you watch them eat? Is there other competition for food in the tank? And are the eyes exceptionally large compared to the body size?

I guess my question was more a matter of whether you are actually seeing them eat adequate amounts of food or whether the competing fish have their way with it and the apistos get what is left. Have you watched them eat well after feeding on a regular basis?
