Does anyone got a subscription to this magazine and can give a personal opinion about it?

I'm regularly renewing my TFH subscription every year and generally think it's a really great magazine. Though I've heard from many serious hobbyists that PFK is much more professional and that it's usually has more qualitative articels. Is there really something about it?

I'll be glad to hear some impressions on both of them...

Thanks,

I've had PFK for years and really like it. I think the main cichlid writer, Mary Bailey, is really great and covers a wide range of cichlids, not just her favourites (if she has any!).
I agree with other comments though that it does try to cover everything and that is what I like about it. It means I can keep up with Marine side and other things.
Recently though their coldwater coverage has plummeted and, as a koi/pond keeper, I'm not too happy with this, but they've got more good things on planted tanks which I like so that's good!

As you can see from the comments, a lot depends on your taste in fish/information desired. For an overall look at fishkeeping, I think PFK does an excellent job.

I agree with this statement.

I also think it would do many suppliers/shops good to read these publications too as most shops seem to give out the same advice (and species naming) that they did 20years ago when they bought the shop :)
