A swedish shop had a list over westies from Cameroon and Guinea. In the Guinealist their is a Pelv spec "Golden" never heard of it (only as albino pulcher).
Pelvicachromis Roloffi is also known as the Golden Cichlid, or Golden Krib. The female takes on a golden hue when breeding. I have never bred them so have not experienced them first hand, just what I have seen from the LFS, and they are pretty drab looking.
Pel. roloffi have been described as 'gold' or 'yellow', but so have P. subicellatus. Since the fish are from Guinea, I would have to suspect that they are roloffi.
I was just at the LFS and looked at the few P. Roloffi that they have and they look nothing like your photo. Washed out brown colour, very drab looking.
Just too much stress from being at the LFS I can only assume, after seeing that photo I am going to have to pick up a pair and set them up properly. They are absolutely gorgeous.
