Do you think a pair of each could live in a planted 50 gallon together? The pairs are in there own 20 gal's right now and playing a little rough. Thanks

Pelvicachromis rubrolabiatus & P. signatus

Hello 3p,

Given the size of the tank, yes I'd say that you can probably house both species together. Adding some dither fish to the mix can only help.

Good luck!

signatus spawn

The signatus did the deed. Just took out about 25 fry. Very happy. Rubrolabiatus look like they will lay anyday. Both pairs are in a planted 55 gallon.

What kind of water did you use to breed them ?

Can't get mine to "do it's duty for the party" so far :(

Thanks,

Phil
