Setting up new 10 gallon

Recently, I've statrted setting up/planning a new 10 gallon tank. After temporarily considering them for a 37 gallon community i had, i stayed away from apistogramma, however, I was wondering if i could keep a pair of A. Borellii in my 10 gallon once it has been set up. The water would be a little hard not too hard as it would be around 70 percent RO, and i plan on filling in most of the tank with val, rotala, hornwort and other fast growers (at least decently well planted) with driftwood, cattapa and active peat filtration.

I believe the size of the tank is the primary problem. Is it possible? Yes, with proper decor - and a lot of experience keeping apistos. Otherwise a 10 is too small for a pair of apistos. except for a couple of species which are not found in the hobby: A. angayuara and A. wapisana.

Maybe Apistogrammoides pucallpaensis could work? I think @anewbie has done that.

Yea i found a. pucallpaensis work pretty well in a 10; the biggest negatives is the f1 were a lot smaller. They are not bad looking fishes; inexpensive and generally readily availble. They are also not blackwater fish and my wc pair did well in 140 tds (kh 3 gh 6) and readily bred.
