The regani-group is sub-divided into species-complexes in Miller & Schliewen. They found that the former cruzi- and Pebas-complexes are genetically part of the eunotus-complex. They were combined into the eunotus-complex. The Winkelfleck-complex (2 forms that may represent 1 species) was not considered a separate species-complex. The urteagai-complex of Koslowski contained 2 different species: A. urteagai and A. acrensis. They are similar in appearance, but genetically very different. A. urteagai is similar to species in the resticulosa- and caetei-complexes. A. acrensis is similar to species of the regani-complex. Miller & Schliewen removed the species-complex. The "div.taxa A-regani-guppen" (= diverse taxa in the A.-regani-group) are regani-group species that do not fit in any of the established species-complexes. Many of these appear to be relic species, similar to those that evolved into the modern species-complexes.
