Male checkerboard keep bully the remale

Just bought them a week ago but the male is now keep bully the female? I just grab one male and a female at the store so they are not pair up yet. They sometimes hang out together like is paired. The male is 2.25" and the female 1.5" size. They are in a 65 gallon right now.

D. filamentosus isn't the most aggressive checkerboard species, but is can be an 'eager breeder'. You best solution is to add 1 or 2 more females to the tank.

Ya I can tell they are not aggressive species but I really dont know whats going on with the male

Simple. The male is ready to spawn, but your female is not. So now he is trying to drive her away in hopes that a 'ready' female is nearby.

I can't say that for sure, but for some reason she isn't interested in breeding. This could be due to age, health, feeding, water quality, water values, etc., etc.

Cant find another female now. Checkerboard to rare in my area actually. I will wait and see if they gonna be better later
