Help with an I.D.

I am still trying to sort out my mess of a dozen fish I got from a friend. He told me there were Abacaxis as well as Rotpunkt in the group. Attached are some pics of one of the fish. i will post a few more once my battery recharges. Thanks.

I don't see any specimens of A. sp. abacaxis in the three photos that you sent. The first 2 show A. sp. Rotpunkt. The last one is an A. sp. Pebas-like species - either A. sp. Pebas or (more likely) A. sp. Roca Eterna.

Mike I will post some more pics. I am attempting to sort and differentiate through them. I have about 12 fish in total a friend gave me. He bought them as rutpunkt and "Dollie" as I posted in an earlier thread.

From 4 to 8 fishes look for me like A. sp. "Pebas" or something similar.

A. sp. Roca Eterna is a Pebas-subcomplex species that is often sold as A. sp. Papagei/Parrot. It comes from a river closer to Iquitos than the Rio Ampiyacu (home of Papagei) so it's easier for collectors to get them and ship them to the exporters (who don't know the difference). Treat it like A. sp. Pebas or Papagei.
