Fish eggs and Gremlins

Are these two similar at all? I have read a few articles recently (regarding breeding of Cardinal tetras) that fish eggs can be light sensitive and the loss of spawns can be a result of exposure to light.

Has anyone found this to be true with Apisto breeding or any other fish breeding for that matter

not with apisto's nor cory's - sun doesn't matter in my experiences

have also read that it can occur when breeding cardinals and the tank should be kept darkened when spaning cardinals, not sure why though
