Eunotus fry in community tank

Hello.

My Apisto. Eunotus spawned in my community tank without my even noticing...after coddling other apistos in breeding tanks to no avail! Fry were free swimming about 5 days ago and I don't seem to have lost many. May be a stupid question but is there anything I can do to improve their chances of survival in such an environment. Any ideas on moving them? The female, and the male to a lesser extent is doing a pretty good job of keeping everyone else away (have some nasty barbs and big silver sharks in the tank). Just anyone's thoughts or experiences?
Thanks.

Natalie

Honestly, Silver sharks are BW and will not stay healthy long in your setup. They need marine salt in their water and a very large tank as well.

I would be more worried about them eating the dwarfs and the barbs before raising any fry. They're predatory catfish, and mine LOVE eating feeders about the size of a dwarf cichlid or a barb.

re.

Well. My silver sharks and barbs are thriving, I have had them for a few years. The silver sharks are about 15cms and leave everyone else alone. In fact, all my fish are very healthy in my 4 ft setup. I manged to save a few of my babies who are now doing well in a separate tank. Have the parents with a new lot of fry now in their own 2ft tank.
