My female Cacatuoide was acting liking she had eggs, so i lifted the pot to check.
There is a bunch of red eggs on the side of the pot, but there was also what i guess are unfertilized eggs.
They were the same size as the eggs, white and all fuzzy (like a bit of old food) lying at the bottom of the pot, though they are now floating about the tank after lifting the pot.

Dos it sound like i have unfertilized eggs ?

This would be my first batch of fry if all is not lost !

Andrew.

The female has abandoned the pot that had the eggs in it.
I haven't checked if the eggs are still there, as i do not want to disturb her again (which i think is the reason she abandoned them  ), as she looks like she has laid eggs in the pot right next to it.

Cacs often move their babies after they hatch,, sometimes they do it very often, more than once a day. If your female is acting as if she is guarding something and did not lose her yellow colour chances are there are some fry in your tank.
Good luck,
Jason

I would'nt have touch eggs! Even you wonder if they are fertilized, don't touch let the female do its business.... if you disturb everyting, you destroy also everything. If this time its not working, next time will be the good one, but please don't touch....

missmaud,

WELCOME TO THE FORUM

Good advice. It is best not to rock the boat. Sometimes that is difficult and curiousity gets the best of us and we "peek". I usually try to set things up to have a reasonable chance to see the eggs iif they are laid.

Andrew C,
Congratulations! :D It is best to follow missmauds advice, but obviously doesn't always disturb the fish too much!
