Hi everyone
I came home from work today to find my cacatuoides male with some fin damage. This seems to have occurred within the last 24 hours and was not there last night.
Alongside this, when I got home today the female was no-where to be seen, but once I started feeding she came out in full yellow breeding dress and went back to a cave full of eggs, I don't believe these were there yesterday.
As I am aware the water condition is fine, although I did do a large water change yesterday evening. The pair are both otherwise healthy - good colours, feeding well, active etc.
My question is whether this is likely to be something like fin-rot or an injury from spawning, I note the female laid eggs in a very tight spot to access and suspect the male could have been thrashing around in there and picked up these injuries with her potentially nipping too.
I have attached a couple of photos, hoping that someone can give their thoughts.
Thanks all.
