Hi, I'm new here.
I'm stocking a (majority dwarf cichlid) 55g tank.

I already have 4 blue rams and in a few weeks, will add a couple Bolivian Rams.

Would they be compatible in temperament, and water needs, cover, etc. as a few Apistogramma viejita, if I add them also later?
And maybe a few other dwarf types)?

(Don't care to breed any, until I have a breeding tank set up)

Blue Rams require warmer water than most SA Dwarf Cichlids to be at their best but it is possible the keep these three species together in a 55 gal. 82*F might be fair middle ground for them. There are no behavioral problems I can foresee in keeping these fish together provided the usual advice of defined territories consisting of mixed open space, areas of caves and plantings is followed.

Agree with apistomaster. Just however to restate what was mentioned, make sure that you have enough territorial markers, caves, hideouts etc. This will make them all happier and makes them settle more. In my 6ft tank i have 3pairs of Bolivian and 5pairs of apistos and all go great. As you stated, this setup of yours will not be successful for breeding. hope all goes well. cheers jk :biggrin:
