Apisto Pair in 10-gallon tank

Hi guys,

I'm back after a month-long hiatus from my computer!

Among other new developments, I've got a new girlfriend with (drum roll please) a fish tank. It's only a 10-gallon jobby with a couple of albino tetras in it, but generally speaking, she takes pretty good care of it.

What do you guys think about putting an Apisto pair in there? Is 10 gallons enough? Any specific Apistos (Borelli?) jump to mind?

Thanks,
Jason

you got a gf with a fish habit?? how did you manage that. you are already one step ahead of the game.

i think a pair of borelli's would be perfect for that tank. they are just the right size. my male died, but my female is my friendliest fish next to my discus. she always come right out and up to greet me when i come home. small fish, lots of character!

Well, she's only got a small tank, but I'm working hard to get her addicted. Slowly but surely I'm shedding the "fish-nerd" image...

I thought Borelli might be the choice. I want to keep the aggression to a minimum, if possible. I just got a pair of Borelli recently, but other than them spawning about 12 hours after going in my community tank, I haven't had enough time to really evaluate them yet.

Thanks Aspen.

jowens,
To make sure that you don't perpetuate the fish nerd image, when you bring her to your place after dinner don't check your tanks first thing when you walk in the door. I still make that mistake :? .
The borellii are probably a good choice. They can handle the water (if not perfect), temp, and other tank-mates best. plus, as aspen said, they have a lot of personality and might get her to fall for them.
