I have a group of Cacatuoides Triple Reds in my 300g planted tank. The tank is heavily planted and I started out a year ago with 3 males, 4 females. They have spawned and spawned and I now have an uncountable amount. Problem is the spawns seem to have only produced males. I guess it is possible there are femlaes and they are always in hiding but I really don't think so.

The tank is 300 gallon, pressurized CO2, pH 6.5, GH 7, KH 3, Nitrates 10/15 ppm, WC 1/3 weekly.

Any thoughts?

Thank you, Michael

If you are actually keeping the temperature at 79ºF/26ºC (and the thermometer is correct) then your conditions should be producing even numbers of males and females. The only think I can think could be happening is that smaller fish (mostly females) are being killed by the larger fish. I can't seriously believe this is happening however. You definitely have a mystery on your hands. I think it is time to put a fish trap in the tank and thin out the population.
