Hey, sorry for creating another thread. But I have a female apisto that is relentless against other fish. She has colored up but has killed the male. She has been like this for 8 days and no sign of wigglers or fry. I’m not sure what to do. She is slowly killing the fish in the tank because of her aggression and I have no where to move her too. Would floating her in a large net surfice?

There are rogue fish. I once knew someone who had a Silver-tip Tetra (Hasemania nana) that drove every other fish out of 5 feet of a 6 foot long tank. He eventually had to move it in with larger, more dominant fish. Your female seems to be doing the same. You don't mention the size or lay-out of the tank so it's hard to say for sure what is happening. A net is not really a good long-term (more than a day or 2) option.

The tank size is a 36 gallon bowfront and the layout is a very planted tank along with driftwood and rock hardscape. Here’s a picture of it. I took her out of the net after a day because it isn’t a great solution because it made no difference she still does the same thing.

You have our permission to set up more tanks. If you need a signed certificate from Apistogramma.com to appease family members, let us know.;)
I really wish I could set up some more tanks they are amazing. If I could get a certificate and try convince them it would be funny but they still wouldn’t say yes probably lol.

Re-designing and starting a new fish room all over again. This time we'll have many more Apistsogramma species. We are expanding.

Hi,

just in case you happen to live in Germany (or Netherlands): I have a wildcaught female A. psammophila, you could have it for free. I have no use for it anymore.
