A. sp. "Kelleri": Habitat

Last week, a large number of A. sp. "Kelleri" were imported to Hong Kong.
From a casual discussion with my friend who is the trader, we both are curious
about the natural habitat of this species. I read from Martin and Tom's Homepage that this species was found in Brasil (Rio Jutai, October 2009, and also in Leticia, 2008). However, exporters seemed to indicate that they're from Peru.
I would appreciate if more information can be shared with me.
Thanks much.

As you may have read earlier somewhere on this forum, the Kelleri are not coming from Brazil. They come from Leticia, Peru. Some Dutch collectors have found them. They were the first to catch them some years ago but didn't bring back live specimens. They have gone back this year and brought some live Kelleri to Holland. In the meanwhile the exporters have found them too and started to bring them in too (first as "Jutai" so the catchingplace would be protected)

Try to get in contact with Ernst van Genne; he is on this forum too, but not often. He can tell you all the details of the habitat.

They come from Leticia, Peru.

Mark means Leticia, Colombia (across the Amazon from Peru).

Tom, Julio Melgar & I collected in the same area about 2 years ago. We actually found the stream from which the first specimens were collected. Unfortunately for us, the stream had completely died up earlier in the year so we found no Kelleri. When we were there, the stream was very slow flowing; substrate very fine white sand with leaf litter and brush; few plants other than algae; mixed clear/blackwater: pH ~5.5, <35µS/cm. I need to find my field notes to get the exact readings.
