A.martini vs A.pantalone

I seem to be having some trouble separating A.martini and A.pantalone What should I look for to tell them apart?

Sorry could not resist. Honestly, in Australia we have never had this species so would not know. Would have to wait for the others to reply. cheers jk :biggrin:

Compare the size and shape of the caudal spot. A. pantalone has a long, horizontally rectangular spot that extends well back in the caudal fin; A. martini has a more round caudal spot. A. pantalone shows broader red borders on the top and bottom of the caudal fin than A. martini.

Thank you for making it clear, Mike A.pantalone seems to be more available and wide-spread among aquarists, would you aggree on that?

Yes, A. pantelone is more common in the trade. While in Peru in 2008, I saw tanks (unmixed) of both species.
