Moenkhausia agnesae?

I purchased a group of these tetras in Raleigh this weekend. When I saw them my first thought was Moenkhausia agnesae?

They may be, or something close. TomC and I collected similar specimens in the middle Itaya together with A. sp. Oregon. I brought some home but lost the only male. My fish grew to almost 3"/7.5cm and were very fast and active fish; ideal tank would be one at least 4'/1m long.

Mike the only tank I had that I could drop 12 of these fish in was a 72x20x24, the largest fish is almost 3.5" and the smallest is 2" I had a conversation with Randy Carey and he confirmed M. agnesa. I believe that I have males and females based on size and color. I am not sure how to tell sexes on them. Thanks for the reply

We found them in this small, very shallow, jungle creek:

Clearwater, pH 4,56 Conductivity: 11 microS/cm Temperature: 27,2 °C
