Weird A panduro eggs

Hey everyone...this is my first post here. Just wanting to know if anybody has encountered the floowing and has any ideas. I recently attempted to artificially hatch my A. panduro eggs with airstone antifungal etc. The eggs were a bright cherry red and didnt really change colour too much over the two days before they "hatched". On the second day i noticed empty egg sacs still attached to the spawning rock and subsequently little red balls sitting on the bottom of the container, however upon closer inspection the little red balls didnt have tails eyes etc, they just looked like the eggs before they hatched. I am certain that the eggs were hatched as i observed egg sacs still attched to the spawning site. Now the 3rd day the eggs are still there and no further developement has occurred. My pH is around 7 which i know is way too high but i wasnt intending on spawning these fish at this time. anyone experienced anything similar to this.

Female apistos usually help open the eggs so the larvae can escape. They can do this on their own but losses are high. If you want to artificially raise apistos in the future (which I usually don't think is worth the effort) let the female keep the fry until they hatch. Then siphon out the larvae. You will find that fry raised without their mother usually grow more slowly & there are greater losses.
