Is it safe? I've been poking around the net and nobody seems sure. The only answer I could find is that it's defenately not if your coils are made of copper. If my coils aren't copper, can I use it? I've been mixing it with r/o and filtering it through peat.

Dehumidifier water is basically distilled water. If you have used it on fish in the past, and the fish had no problems, then I see no problems using it. I wouldn't use it to continually "top off" an aquarium because the cooling pipes might be something other than stainless steel.
