I got a bunch of corkscrew willow branches the other day and was wondering if anyone else has tried using them in their tanks. They are branches that fell from my mom's tree not craft store junk.

I am not aware of any problems using willow wood. It is very light in color, so it probably will not cause a color change. It is also a somewhat soft wood, so it may decompose a bit faster than wood that is more dense.

I have a branch that I accidentally broke the smaller branches off of in one tank, I can't wait too see what a whole one will look like. As it is the broken one looks like a root growing into the water as I was hoping it would. A little advice for anyone else that tries it soak the wood for a couple days so that smaller branches flex instead of snapping off.
