I recently found some wild caught apistogramma agassizii at a fish store near me, as well as some apistogramma cacautoides....
i currently have a pair of agassizii and was wondering if my domestic pair would breed with the wild caughts,
i'm planning on buying a pair of either wild aggies or cockatoos, and was wondering what you guys (and girls) would suggest... i have an empty 15 gallon tnak that i want to stock...

thanks

Yes they will breed together, but more importantly, where are they?

I really want a natural looking agazizzi, the sharper the tail the better!

Where are they? I may even get you to get me some... I'm in Missisauga.

moricollins,

WELCOME TO THE FORUM

Most agassizii will breed between forms with reasonable to good results. There are a few exceptions (ie, tefe). If you already have a pair of aggies, why don't you try the cacatuoides?! It will give you a chance to see the differences in species and provide you with more information for future choices.

well, i bought a pair of apistogramma cacatuoides today, my male already has nice colouration, and the female was the largest of the bunch, and the most healthy looking of them all.
