She looks plenty big enough, I have four females on fry [first batch] that are about 1 1/4". I use live food and good water to help mine along in promoting breeding. Good luck there one of my favorite.

HELP!!
I did a water change and then added ada clear water. I over dosed it and my male went very dark and was having a hard time breathin. But my female is nowhere to be seen. I then then quickly just changed the 50 percent of the water. The male has all his colour back now and is eating Female still nowhere to be found. This happened 30 min back and female I still can’t find anywhere. What should I do now?

You might want to do another small w/c latter today, as far as the female, see if she comes out after the next w/c if not it may be time for body retrieval.

Wait an hour or two, do another waterchange and stop using that stuff. Otherwise I agree with yukondog.

It is situations like this that make me say again and again, that aquascapes are not appropriate to house any fish and especially no Apistogramma.

Sorry to be so harsh but animal welfare should always be top priority.

Really? Thats quite a harsh position to take, what do you mean by aquascaping anyways.

Open, plant-focused, artistic scapes that offer neither cover nor structure. Iwagumi style for example.
oh yeah those, the closest thing I have to an aquascape is my 29 breeding tank (still waiting for that tank to stabilize before breeding) It has a massive piece of drifwood
