One of my male Pelvicachromis subocellatus Matadi has seemed to have lost the use of his swimbladder and is swimming rather like a Steatocranus I believe. He is otherwise is good health with a hearty appetite. This happened over a week ago. Am treating for bacterial though.

What I would like to know is if such a problem can be rectified? I know this condition will adversely affect his ability to perform in the sack, though.

Steatocranus...genus includes cichlids like the Blockhead cichlid, S. casuarius. These have reduced swimbladders. Another group of cichlids I believe are like this are the boby cichlids or something. Anyway, this is how my fish is sort of swimming about, hopping around on his belly.:frown:
