I may have the opportunity to go to Surinam for a couple of weeks or so. Are there any cool collecting areas in that country, has it been expored "collected" in much?? I think it will be a real adventure opportunity for me

If you are looking for dwarf cichlids, the following are found in Surinam: A. ortmanni, A. steindachneri, Laetacara cf. curviceps (Surinam), and Nanacara anomala. I wouldn't be surprised if other species occur. Surinam has not be heavily explored. The best reference for cichlids is the book "Cichlids of Surinam" by Kullander & Nijssen. It's out of print and copies are rare (and expensive!). Good luck fishing and let us know what you find.
