My keyholes and gold ram have the same water parameters as brichardis. I have some people who have told me that they can exist just fine together and others are wary of it...will this work?
Which brichardi are you referring to? If you are referring to the Neolamprologus from Lake Tanganyika, then the water parameters do not match. Telmatochromis brichardi are closer to the SA parameters, but they prefer current and lots of oxygen.
Africans and SA cichlids do not speak the same language. Sometimes confrontations occur where the fush do not respond to each other in teh expected manner. THis is more of a problem when mixing african lake fish with south american or central americans. Africans are hit and run fin nippers while SA/CA are more noble  ... they square off, lock lips and see who the strongest is.
Personally, I rarely mix continents. I have... and probably will again... but not for long term or permannet housing.
yeah the neo. Brichardis. i wanted to house one with my ram and keyholes, but i guess is wont work, i guess ill get a cac. or two instead...that would be ok right? or a borelli?
