Sick fish?

Picked up a WC pair of Nanochromis Parilus yesterday. Put them in a 29 with a WC pair of Pelvicachromis Taeniatus "Makoure". Beautiful fish, but the male just scoots along the bottom. He eats, but doesn't swim around off the bottom. Maybe he's just stressed and getting used to his surroundings, but does this raise a red flag to anyone? Swim bladder problems?

Hi,

My raising of the flag would be to have the two pairs in the same tank. I would say the male is stressed, as he knows there is another male in the tank.
I would place each pair in a seperate tank as I find these two fish not compatible. Sorry cheers jk

Aron, sorry to hear about the fish but i think the problem is your name - hawkeye - kidding. best of luck with the fish. how big is the tank?

Hey now, it was too embarassing to call myself Lionsfan here too. They're in a 29 with plenty of cover. He's getting better now. I've seen him get into the middle portion of the tank a couple times. I think he just needs to realize he's the biggest fish in the tank!

I concur with 'Bigbird', the tank is just too small for 2 pairs of that size. Sooner or later it will get out of hand. It maybe a good idea to get some dither fish in there as well.
