Sawbwa resplendens

Does anyone know if sawbwa resplendens would work as an effective dither fish for Apistogramma in a 55g?

Given their hard water preference it would be paired with a tank bred white water pair like cacatuoides/Macmasteri.

It wouldn’t be a full breeding setup given my water conditions are pretty hard as-is - but hoping given the small size/mouths of Sawba and their preference for top/mid of tank it could allow some fry to grow to maturity?

While water parameters and cohabitation should be no problem, I doubt they are fry-safe.
