would anyone ever put rams and bettas toghter. I want to breed both if possible (they just got a load of great females at the local store). Would the rams nip the long fins?

You will not be able to breed both Rams & Bettas in the same tank. Although both can handle the same water conditions, the breeding tank set-ups are very different. Breeding Rams might damage the fins of male Bettas who are slow swimmers, but I see no problem keeping female Bettas with Rams as dither fish. Just my opininon.

I think I just like colourful fish too much. Well thank goodness for hindsight, besides I just realized the other tank has a mirrored backing! Duh I'm stupid.
