Hello
The local pet store has brought a specie of apistogramma I have never heard of...
This apisto is called broadband-breitband or br....
Could anyone give me some information about this fish?

Thank you in advance:)

I never have. You might be able to do it if the aquarium is VERY DENSELY planted with many, many hiding places. Breitbinden is not an extremely aggressive fish.

Hi Alexandros from Greece & Mark,

this is Heiko and just back from two more amazing expeditions (with many new dwarfs, but no Apistos, only new Dario and Badis spp. some less than 1/3 of an inch adult and spawning...). But I am writing for two reasons:
1. The Breitbinden (I collected many) should have also driftwood and many leafs over light sandy ground. This is where the hide and lay eggs in nature and if you do it like they will love it. I have done a similar biotope for some new Apistogramma sp. from the agassizii group I found last August, you will see how happy and fast they will reproduce. In the biotope I decorated see:

they laid eggs in a couple of ours after placing, just because the biotope was correct - as they knew it from nature. Have aclose look.
2. Alexandros did you know that I come to Athens for 7 lectures & Seminars in April? You should come, have a look at:
http://www.aquapress-bleher.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=356&Itemid=42
make sure you come, as there will also be many Apistogramma spp. shown, habitats, new discoveries, etc. Habe a look at the topics.

All the best to both of you,

always
Heiko

Hello Heiko.
I am glad that you answered to my topic.:)
Thank you for the information you gave me about the apistogramma s.breitbinden.I am not sure if I buy a pair in the end because of their price and other factors
To end with, I will definetely come to your seminar here in Athens at 25 and 26 April. It was my mistake not coming to the previous seminar you organized in Greece.
Have a nice day

Alexandros

Dear Alexandros,

thank you very much for your nice words and I wish you the best with your Apistos. And see forward to see you in one of my favorite countries for lectures & Seminars. Because the Greek people must be some of the friendliest and most hospital on earth...

Just for the sake of it: last time it was Nidal Rezeq who invited me and this time it i the group of the Aquazone.gr

All the best

Heiko
