I have an old breeder friend who retired from the business and gave me all his breeding stock. These guys threw me off a bit. I could easily recognize everyone except these and he has no idea what the species is either

They really don't show many diagnostic dark markings. Based on the dark lateral spot, all I can say is that they belong in the trifasciata-lineage. This lineage contains several hundred different apisto species/forms. Does the male have extended anterior dorsal spines?

No, it’s not extended like trifasciata males I’ve seen

I still don't see anything really diagnostic. Kind of reminds me of an atahualpa-, nijsseni-, or norberti-group species. All of these are part of the trifasciata-lineage along with the species of the agassizii-, bitaeniata, brevis-, cacatuoides-, D-10, diplotaenia-, gibbiceps-, and (of course) the trifasciata-groups.
