Pel. pulcher Ughilli yellow form

There will be a some Pelvicachromis pulcher Ughilli yellow form arriving to a reseller in the near future.
I am unable to find any information on it, does anyone have a link, information, or photograph on this particluar form. Or is it just a synomyn of another species.

Any information would be helpful.

No clue. I have seen a Pelvicachromis pulcher 'yellow' strain on wholesaler lists recently, bu tno location given. The fish were ordered and looked like a regular krib with yellow cheeks.

I wonder if it Pelvicachromis sp. aff subocellatus. They seem to be similar to the true Pelvicachromis subocellatus, just not as vivd in colour and the body a little stockier.
I did find out that Ughelli lies in the western Niger River delta east of Warri.

I guess I will have to wait until they come in and see what they are.

Pelvicachromis pulcher vs. P. subocellatus

Hello Woody,

Both Pelvicachromis pulcher and P. sp. aff. subocellatus are found in the Niger Delta. The later form, however, is seldom collected, not even in sufficient quantities for a good scientific description. Chances are that the Ughelli fish is a yellow-morph P. pulcher. Please keep us posted.
