I got a F0 trio of these 2 years ago and had them in a 55g tank, hardness was 100us. They were doing well but never spawned. I moved 2 months ago and the new place has well water that is very hard. So I set them up with the well water, 560us conductivity. I pulled out 25 fry this morning.

.... Probably all females :wink:. The conventional wisdom dictates that a pH of 6.0 is necessary for a good sex ratio but that didn't always work out for me in reality. Male offspring were always very much in the minority ( like 100 to 1 ) even with the tweaked water parameters. I never tried a super low pH as a test as I intended but I suspect that sex ratio in kribs is a result of more than just environment, phases of the moon perhaps :biggrin:....

Well I had a pair of taeniatus that gave me almost all males when raised in soft water. I had a spawn 1 week before I moved. My new house has very hard water so the spawn was raised in hard water and I have 8 males and 12 females.
