What do you mean, the authors doesn't exist??? You just have to translate the names. Volquete (span. ) = Kipper (german)

And no, honestly the abstract seems not really to be plausible. Have a closer look. E.g. the list of misidentifications go back until 1947, but A.viejita was described in 1979. The new holotype (not possible, would be a neotype) is 18.2mm SL, gender unknown? But the most important is: a main rule of taxonomy is, that the oldest given name is valid. So it is impossible to give an already described species a new name. This would be automatically a synonyme.

... and accordingly, "avessi" (italian) = hätt' ich -> Hättich (german).
And yes, we had a lot of fun creating this "paper" :)

Since the name was never published in 'hard copy', by ICZN rules it has never been used. So I guess it still is available. It fooled Cichlid Room Companion. I had to write Juan Miguel that it was an April Fool's prank.

Hi,

Gerald, no we didn't sent it to Sven Kullander.... we should have done, because our "work" received him anyway. ;-)
I got an eMail from him! He wondered, that even scientists forwarded our document to him, but he appreciated our joke.
Ha, that's great! :)

So, don't worry, if you were fooled... you're not alone. ;-)

regards,
Rolo
